Description

The addition of Smokey's makes it official: Boca Raton is the barbecue capital of South Florida. Though a chain, this eatery is good enough to qualify as an independent because of its fare - tender baby-back and St. Louis-style ribs that are meat, not fat; slow-cooked beans and freshly steamed corn on the cob; hand-pulled pork; barbecued chicken nachos that have chunks of poultry riding high on a mountain of chips (avalanche warnings are a given). Don't forgo bags of homemade doughnuts dusted with cinnamon sugar for dessert.
