What Smashboxx lacks in descriptive signage, the popular Old Town club makes up for in attitude. Leather booths line one side of the place, and a backlit bar sparkling with vodka bottles lines the other, and in the middle, a mix of night-outers and dedicated dancers swivel and shake on the dance floor to a soundtrack of Top 40 and hip-hop. Descend the wooden stairs and you'll notice décor that points to both Euro-inspired hipness and old-school manliness. Equestrian paintings and a massive Steve McQueen portrait share space with paper lanterns and the "Hotboxx," a photo and video booth that allows mugging frequenters to update directly to their Facebook profiles.
