Located on the northern end of Ballard, the Sloop Tavern sports a refreshing amount of dust in a neighborhood that feels newer by the week. The pool tables and pull tabs and 34-ounce "slooper" beer set it apart from the veneer of elegance common to much of nouveau Ballard. With tons of arcade games, gigantic mugs of Rainier, plenty of regulars who are either sailors or work in the maritime industry, and some of the best fish and chips in the city-can it get any more vintage Ballard than this? No, it can't.
