With its pictures of Irish castles and cocktail waitresses in tiny plaid skirts, Skosh Monahan's fits the description of an Irish pub. Befitting a bar inspired by the Emerald Isle, it's warm and inviting, even if it is owned by Costa Mesa Mayor Gary Monahan. The full bar is nicely outfitted with plush, cushioned booths surrounded by 12 plasma, flat-screen TVs beaming a variety of sporting events. Interestingly, the walls bear prints of famous starlets such as Audrey Hepurn and Liz Taylor. The beer selection here is ample with an assortment of micro brews, domestics and imports. Labels include: Ubita IPA, Blue Moon, Haywire Hefeweizen, Boddington's and Smithwick's. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and includes domestic pints at $3.75 and imports at $5.25.
