Walking into Sip is like walking into a library - fitting, as its neighbor to the north is Seattle's downtown branch. Instead of walls full of books, however, Sip has wine; the floor-to-ceiling bottles are accessed by sliding ladders. High-ceilinged and posh, Sip's layout accounts for both the hip, post-work happy hour crowd and those out for dinner. Expansive booths and low tables line the stairs at the entrance, with some featuring views of the city. The upscale lunch, dinner and small plate menus, while derived from standard American fare (including sliders, of course), include the occasional international curveball, like paella or Vietnamese caramel beef.
