The first thing you'll notice at Simmzy's in Manhattan Beach is the beer list; it's scrawled across the walls like an alcoholic's ever-changing wallpaper. The taps do rotate frequently at this gastropub, but always flow with local craft beers or specialty standouts that have caught the eyes of owners Chris and Mike Simms. Reasonable wines are also available by the glass, but when the smothered blue cheese string fries and the juicy pub burger come out you'll wish you had a pint instead of the pinot. The best seats in the house are actually outside on the patio, within sight of the Manhattan Beach pier. No matter where you manage to find a table, expect a surprising amount of noise from the laid-back clientele.
