Carefree wine tastings are the order of the day at Silverlake Wine on Glendale Boulevard, complete with companion dishes from places like Heirloom L.A. and Let's Be Frank. At this Silver Lake wine shop, you'll find shelves and shelves of corked libations running the length of the brightly modern space, eagerly waiting to be discussed by lively staff members or one of the owners themselves. There are smaller touches as well, like the cartoon bears in the bathroom, hand-painted by local artist Phil Lumbang. Silverlake Wine is the same group that has brought wine, beer and movie nights to Barnsall Art Park in the past, which is exactly the sort of attitude that makes this unassuming space for oenophiles shine.
