Even the most gun-shy gals feel at home on the range at Shooter's World. From 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday, "Arizona's largest indoor shooting facility" fires up for ladies' night, wooing the girls with free range time, free firearm and safety rental, and free instruction; the only cash to cough up is for ammo and targets. Shooter's World is a great local place to go shooting inside the city. The facility itself is clean and the staff here is very knowledgeable. I took my CCW class here and it wasn't overly stimulating but the instructor did a good job getting us all through it and gave some neat tips for target practice. Their prices for purchasing guns and ammo are very reasonable (equivalent to Cabela's). The lane fees for shooting are 15 dollars an hour per person, which seems a bit high but to get to Ben Avery or go out in the desert will probably cost that much in gas anyway depending on where you live. They allow pistols, assault rifles, and shotguns on their range.

Once you're locked and loaded, take aim in any of the facility's 24 indoor lanes, which are available for $14 per hour, per person, and are perfect for you to play Dirty Harry with the three kinds of targets available. If you don't like the standard bull's eye or silhouette targets, try taking aim at a photo target of your choosing, including that rat bastard Osama bin Laden, a menacing mugger, and even a little old lady wielding a shotgun. Who knew they had armories in Sun City?
