Two bars keep patrons abuzz in this classic Fort Lauderdale beach resort. Inside, the Wreck Bar's underwater ambience is replete with stocked fish tanks and a viewing glass to watch swimmers in one of the hotel's pools. Outside, the pool-side bar straddles an expansive stretch of beach.

Located right on the water on Ft. Lauderdale beach.. Has been around for years, used to be where the Yankees stayed in south Fla.. location is among the best.
The mermaid is back! According to local legend, it was circa 1956, when the Yankee Clipper was built (in the shape of a ship), that the landmark hotel started offering regular mermaid shows. This wood-beamed bar in the lobby of the Yankee Clipper resembles the galley of a large ship. But the sea life that swims past the large window behind the bar is not the kind you'd find at the bottom of the ocean. Not even close. It's people, which is less shocking than, say, finding out that Soylent Green is people.
