Shark Bar is a slice of the beach - er, at least Clear Lake - smack-dab in the middle of downtown Houston. Located inside Bayou Place, Shark Bar is decorated in a sterile beach theme, with vintage surf boards, a fake palm tree, and wooden décor everywhere, bringing to mind those old woodie-style station wagons all the old-school surfers rode around in. Hell, Point Break was even playing on two plasmas the night we stopped by. A DJ consistently pumps out party music, and a large deck outside has couches you might very well melt into. And to answer the nagging question: Yes, the men and women who sling drinks at Shark Bar do wear beach attire, including bikinis on the gals and board shorts for the boys. Any time of the year is an endless summer here, and unless you party harder than most, you shouldn't have to worry about getting seaweed in your pants.
