At this popular ID restaurant, you'll find a few enticing Shanghainese dishes amid scores of crispy-fried Chinese American ones: Drunken chicken, the tender meat steamed and marinated in rice wine. Chewy hand-shaved "barleygreen" noodles in soup (get them Taiwanese style, with pork and preserved vegetable) or stir-fried. The shrimp with pea vines is glorious enough that you can overlook its mutt-like genealogy.
I love Shanghai Garden whether it's in Seattle or Issaquah. I would marry it if I could. Some personal recommendations from me: Barley Green Hand Shaven Chow Mein, Shanghai Dumplings, Vegetable Fried Rice Cake and Mu Shu Pork
