Sen Yai Sen Lek (Big Noodle, Little Noodle) is a new Thai restaurant located squarely at the happy intersection of "authentic" and "accessible." Bold, bright, spicy, sharp, challenging flavors dominate the food, but the decor is warm, spacious, modern, and inviting. Even the menus are clearly written and elegantly laid out. Sticky rice (or Isaan) dishes are particularly rewarding, playing aggressive flavors against the calming influence of the rice.

We like Sen Yai Sen Lek for lots of reasons: its expansive but well-curated menu composed of near-equal parts curry, noodle, and rice dishes; the entire menu section featuring cuisine from the northeast Isaan region of Thailand (sticky rice! small plates! sticky rice!); and its friendly, inviting, brightly colored space with origami cranes and paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, to name just a few.
