Description

While salsa dancing erupts after hours (Fridays and Saturdays only), Selena's is a lunch and dinner favorite for Wallingford families. The bar's in back. The TV screens aren't too loud. And if the kids are fussy, the chips keep coming until dinner arrives. The menu ain't fancy--this is basic Mexican fare, with the sauces a bit darker and smokier than you get at a chain restaurant. Nor is the service standardized; this is a family-run place, with all the quirks and charm that implies. If you have to reiterate your order, that creates more time for chips and another round of margaritas.
