My New Years promise to my girlfriend was to go to the theater with her every two months. This was the first time I sat thru a whole performance and wasn't fidgeting for the play to end! As a grandfather to a child with autism, I enjoyed this portrayal of Shawn and disagree with Ms Klugman and thought J Black did a great job in the part of Shawn. In fact I thought casting was pretty good and liked the way the music changed thruout the show to introduce new scenes. I'm not an expert, I'm a football, TV remote kind of guy so for it to hold my interest I give this a two thumbs up!
The music--Intense! I watched in awe as the singers, evidently classically trained, used their talents to play in a very unique production. Bold, odd and surprisingly historical, I left this theatre hungry to talk about it with someone else! How refreshing to see the art of theatre break out of its mold!
