Seattle Weekly's Description

Purr is one of the friendlier, less prissy bars on Capitol Hill - definitely the place to go if you're looking for an easygoing but still convivial night out. Booths and a roomy bar both offer comfortable seating, and the staff here is extra amicable - you almost want to invite them to sit and have a drink with you. Daily Specials here are simple and include $5 "Vodka Monsters," $6 Long Islands, $3 beers, and a selection of food items off the Mexican-themed menu. Purr also keeps things interesting with karaoke and DJ nights, theme parties for holidays and events like the Academy Awards, and local art displays.

This is a great place to have drinks, they make everyone feel very welcome. The prices are good, Dj's are good too. Great place to meet up with your friends before you go dancing.

You can't tell by the name, but Purr serves Mexican food and, at night, transforms into one of the city's hippest gay bars.

  • Manhunt on 09/22/11

Manhunt had a blast here downing cocktails from the very friendly staff and clowning on music videos. Recommended. Oh - and Mexican Food!
