This is one of our finest tourist destinations. See that I didn't say "tourist trap" because it isn't! Great produce and beautiful, affordable flowers. Buy from our Farmers! Also, great restaurants in the area. Local love their market as well.

Best to go during the week. As Mark Tobey once stated you see Seattle's market you see Seattle's soul. So many who live here have not gone and shopped for years and even though it is remodeling areas there is nothing like the market from the specialized wine shops, to the local farmers, to the tea shops, to the restaurants and even the toy shops.

Pike Place Market is home to the first Starbucks, Rachel the Pig, numerous street performers and entertainers, and the Pike Place Fish Market, which features the fish-throwing fishmongers.

  • USA TODAY on 11/22/10

Meet Rachel, a 700-pound swine statue that sits among the crowds in this market. Rest assured, any coins you donate to the piggy bank go to local non-profits.

  • ToryBurch on 04/15/11

Locals and tourists alike are drawn to the market for its catches-of-the-day, fresh produce, minstrel-like musicians and to take pictures of the iconic sign.

    Hit up the original Starbucks!

Saw them throw fish at the famous fish market!
