Seattle Weekly's Description

Twice as grand as as it used to be, Matt's is still the tiniest great restaurant in Seattle. The chef and staff are your buddies without being unctuous, and the seasonal, Pacific Northwest inspired cuisine reflects what's fresh in the Pike Place Market just downstairs, be it seared scallops with winter-squash hash to lamb cassoulet. These days, reservations are a must—even for lunch.

    Long before the eat-local mantra, we had Matt's, whose dinner menu was based on whatever Matt Janke found downstairs at the stalls near Pike Place. Happy hour offers a good entree sampling. 5-7pm
