Description

Seattle Weekly's Description

Only at a bar in rough and tumble Georgetown can you expect to find hep artists mingling comfortably with industrial engine mechanics from Auburn. The Jules Maes caters to the masses with local brews on tap, "seen-it-all" barkeeps who can handle a cosmo if needed, live music, a decent burger selection, and deep-fried tater tots all night long. Sure, it hosts rock shows (which new booker Kwab Copeland will no doubt beef up) and serves some fancier beers. But the walls are still covered with dusty political posters from the '70s and vintage beer bottles, and there is the same wood floor plenty of flannel-clad factory workers once walked.

Gotta love this place. Good for shows or just hangin out. Good atmosphere too. It's technically one of the oldest bars in Seattle, even though Georgetown isn't quite Seattle. You get the point.

    Awesome tater tots!

  • Eric T. on 12/21/10

One of many great Georgetown bars, Jules Maes is steeped with its Northwest frontier interior and spiked with nostalgic Rainier Brewery signage. Enjoy a burger, salad, or Cuban pork stew and a beer.

Damn the tots are amazing. What is it about tots that drive us wild?

Get the lamb burger with the chipotle caesar. Scrumptious bar food.
