Description

Seattle Weekly's Description

This Capitol Hill spot is the spawn of the very popular U-District Salvadoran restaurant. The pupusas are the thing here—don't leave without trying one. Pupusas are handmade corn tortillas that are slapped together fresh on premises and come with fillings such as cheese, beans, pork and chicken. You can mix and match these fillings any way you want. Starters worth exploring are the Yuca Frita (a deep-fried potato-like tuber) and the fried plantains. Guanaco's half-chicken dinner, marinated and served with beans, rice and tortillas, is quite good, and the menu also has traditional Latin American faves such as tamales, enchiladas, tacos and burritos.
