Description

Seattle Weekly's Description

German beer is a great democratizer, appealing to both snobs and dudes (no matter their gender). Same with the food at this slick German pub, located in the bottom of a condo complex and painted the color of a ketchup bottle. There are plump, grilled bratwurst to be eaten, as well as jägerschnitzel, thinly pounded pork loins smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce. Or, drink your weissbier with just-baked soft pretzels; light, eggy spaetzle smothered in cheese; and currywurst, the ultimate Berliner street food.

Tips from foursquare

  • The Seattle Times on 05/28/10

A menu of small plates and large, seasoned with gusto and served with potent condiments. The big, warm Bavarian pretzel is served with two kinds of mustards. Wash down with good German beer.

  • Seattle Met on 11/09/11

It's an Old World-styled German restaurant and bar in shiny new Cascade, populated by upwardly mobile young condo dwellers from all over the emerging South Lake Union neighborhood.

order das boot. drink das boot. rejoice.
