Description

Seattle Weekly's Description

The jeans are a bit skinnier on this side of 12th Ave., but on Sunday mornings, there are few finer pastimes than reading The New York Times while scarfing down a croque monsieur and sipping on a Caffé Vita Americano, which the staff will happily refill with drip so you can finish Frank Bruni's latest rant. And Cafe Presse stays open serving its casual French bistro fare until 2 a.m., so if you're more of a night owl, a petit omelet and pommes frites with your Tanqueray martini is sans souci.

Tips from foursquare

  • Seattle Met on 11/09/11

It's the most come-as-you-are French cafe in town, suffused with a casual dailiness that makes it dangerously easy to become a regular.

  • The Seattle Times on 05/26/10

The whole bird is a triumph of moist flesh and brittle skin. Roasted to order and split for two, it's well worth the hour wait.

  • Buster B. on 08/15/11

A bottle of champagne with anything.

  • Seattle Met on 06/30/10

A haven of authentic café society flourishes on Capitol Hill.

  • Seattle Weekly on 12/14/10

Voted Best Bar at Which to Enjoy a Salad, a Glass of Wine, and a Magazine in Best of Seattle 2010!
