For those interested in the darker side of Seattle’s history, the Lust Tour offers a provocative narrative of Pike Place and the surrounding downtown neighborhood before it was converted into today’s wholesome family market. (Sex and politics are forever intertwined, right?) Participants will learn about the rise of adult entertainment, the sexual revolution, and the LGBT movement of the 1970s. The Seattle Lust Tour also reveals little-known accounts of the prostitution and peep show businesses that once dominated “Flesh Avenue” (today First Ave). Tour guides promise to expose you to an entirely different side of the city. Tours are available Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8p.m. Because of adult content, participants must be 21+ to attend.
