Across the water on South New River Drive is the Sea Monster Night
Club, former home of the Squeeze. At first, it feels like an abandoned
dungeon because of the unused front bar, but behind a black sheet is a
strobe-lit, smoky dance floor. Mirrored walls line the room, girls in fetish attire dance on large platforms above the crowd, and the occasional black light shows off the exposed industrial ceilings. A tiny bar near the bathroom is surrounded by windows where the music is lower and high tables are available for sitting. No need to worry about the usual battle for a drink - three bars are open complete with scantily clad men and women. The Sea Monster plays host to a monthly goth new-wave dance party, Revel, as well as to many Fetish Factory events.
