The strip-mall sprawl of suburban Manchester might not be where you'd expect to find some of the best Mexican food in St. Louis, but Señor Pique makes a convincing claim to the crown. The menu features numerous traditional dishes - simple tacos as flavorful as any from a Cherokee Street taquería, enchiladas in bittersweet, peppery mole sauce, cochinita pibil (pork tenderloin served wrapped in banana leaves) - each marked with an M to denote its "authentic Mexican" nature. Those seeking gringo-friendly fare can choose among nachos, fajitas and burritos. And everyone is likely to enjoy a round (or three) of margaritas.
wonderful food, wonderful service a word of warning when the menue says spicy they are not lying. the appatizers are wonderful. we went with or daughter and 2 granddaughters and had a wonderful time. the staff fussed over are 2 year old little redhead that always pleases a grandparent. one of my favorite resturants in st. ouis
This isn't your average, run-of-the-mill, tex-mex restaurant. It's authentic mexican food, and it's absolutely fabulous. I always get the 'Tacos Al Pastor' (marinated pork and pineapple tacos). It's somewhat pricey. About $50-60 for two people. That's including alcoholic beverages and an appetizer, though. Try the 'Ceviche' as an appetizer. It's not as good as my fiances home-made Ceviche, but it's pretty good ; )
Some of the best mexican food around. Do yourself a favor and try the fish or shrimp tacos.

Senor Pique might look like just another Mexican restaurant slinging chips and salsa and margaritas to the west county masses -- and, yes, you can get all three of those items here -- but the menu off... More »
Any restaurant critic worth his weight in rendered duck fat keeps two lists in his head. One identifies people with reason to wish him harm. I dine anonymously, yes, but let me tell you: If, while strolling through the farmers' market, I spot a... More »
I liked Señor Pique even before I'd set foot in the place. This was a few years ago, when the Mexican restaurant shared an old house with a barbershop just west of the intersection of Manchester Road and Highway 141. It was the house I liked, one... More »
So you want to eat at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Your friends would like a place that caters to American taste. You can waste time arguing among yourselves, or you can head to Señor Pique, which is a great Mexican restaurant and a great "Mexican" restaurant. An "M" next to a dish on the menu denotes an authentic dish: tacos al pastor, cochinita pibil (achiote-marinated pork in banana leaves) and molcajete (pork, beef and chicken served with onions and queso fresco in a mortar,...
