Attached to the Venue of Scottsdale, the Comedy Spot regularly hosts an eclectic selection of local and nationally touring jokesters who've dispensed their yuks on TV and in movies, as well as at college campuses around the nation. It's a laidback alternative to The Improv in Tempe and hilarious Valley comedians like Jay Penn and Sean Dillin unleash side-splitting sets. Aspiring comics can also test their wits and practice their gags during both the monthly comedy open mic night and student showcase.
If you're looking to flex your literal muscles or rev your figurative creative engines this summer, then you might as well do something that's completely out of the ordinary. Luckily, Phoenix is home... More »
Comedian Bernadette Pauley’s online shop includes one item. It’s a white women's T-shirt that reads, “If you don’t [heart shape] my [dog image], then you can’t touch my [cat drawing].” Funny lady loves her dog ®C and, unsurprisingly, values her... More »
Comedian and actor Tim Meadows always plays it cool. The all-time second longest running Saturday Night Live cast member (1991-2000) glides through skits, gags, improv, and stand-up with a delivery that’s slicker than a polar bear on ice. But... More »

Event Review: Comedy Spot Open Mic
I have seen several comedians here but my two favorite were The Greg Wilson and Rob Little. Open Mic Night isn't really open to everybody. You submit a request weeks in advance and then they assign you a date. It's always on a Sunday. You are responsible for promoting and advertising your own show and if you don't and there isn't an audience when you go on, they cancel you. So plenty of promoting for your showcase date. You cannot bring video cameras inside, for $24.95 they will video tape your show for you and it will have the Comedy Spot watermark on it. This is a great way for aspiring or up and coming comedians to gain some exposure, if you have great and funny material, give open mic night a shot.
Great comedy spot- reasonable prices and you always come out in a better mood
The comics were quite funny and the host was entertaining. It was a a great price and me and my boyfriend enjoyed ourselves, had a really good time, will definitely go again
