Description
The thatched roof with dangling longboards is reminiscent of an island hut, but the dark wood- paneled walls affixed with brass lanterns, old dials and levers skew nautical. Drinking in this quaint but lively watering hole, it's hard to escape the feeling of being in the galley of a large seafaring vessel. Above the bar hangs a mermaid figurehead with proud, upthrust bosoms next to a harpoon. But don't worry, the bartenders here don't sling stale grog. Rather Schooner at Sunset features a large selection of craft beers on draft including: Monkish Anomaly, Ballast Point Imperial Stout, Sudwerk Pilsner and Eagle Rock Manifesto. But be sure to bring your wallet, these fine pints will set you back between $6 to $9. If hard alcohol is suited more to your tastes, the bar serves up plenty of liquor and finely crafted signature cocktails. Try a Dark and Stormy— made with Sailor Jerry Rum, lime juice, ginger beer and served in a tin mug— you'll be walking on sea legs in no time.
