Supenn Supatanasinkasem Harrison opened a lunch counter in 1979, and now she's got an elegant powerhouse of a Thai restaurant chain feeding thousands of Minnesotans every day. The secret to her success? Simple basics: High-quality ingredients, dynamic decor, and a canny habit of tailoring the menu to the location. The Bloomington Sawatdee features an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet; the Warehouse District restaurant features whole walleye or salmon for sharing among big groups. The Uptown location is dim, inexpensive, and offers lots of meat-free dishes. Harrison also offers cooking classes, and the love Minnesotans have developed for Thai cooking can almost entirely be traced to her efforts.

    A great place to share food. I recommend the fresh spring rolls, and of course - Pad Thai. They have pretty large portions, along with some interesting presentation (dish served in a pineapple, anyone?) so, considering that, the prices are acceptable.
