This Turkish neighborhood bistro revives a San Francisco restaurant meme that seemed to fade out at the end of the 1990s: the red room. There's a whiff of the boudoir to the place, aided by Euroclub music that usually accompanies too much cologne and too much bare thigh. Tuba is quite affordable if you go with two to three friends and stick to the combination platters. The cold meze combo (dips, spreads, and dolmades) pales in comparison to other local Turkish restaurants. The hot meze introduces more interesting fare, like crisp fried "cigars" filled with feta and zucchini fritters napped with yogurt. It's the kebab combo, with its succulent lamb chops, chicken kebabs, and kofte, that makes a group outing worthwhile.
