Tony Nik's Cafe
San Francisco, CA 94133
- Daily 4pm-2am
SF Weekly's Description
With a design sense that takes some cues from Mad Men's Don Draper (minus the smoking) and combines it with a little Swingers-era Vince Vaughn (minus the smarm), Tony Nik's retro style makes it a bachelor pad nonpareil. But your lady is also welcome, of course - especially if she likes a sweet, frosty cocktail (e.g., a Hemingway daiquiri) to go alongside your manly straight shot of liquor. The decor here is mostly mid-century modern, with undulating benches in the rear and textured tile walls up front, though the Cocktail Nation theme is more subtle than you might expect. Don't plan to get a seat on weekends, though: Tony Nik's small size doesn't leave you a lot of leeway when it gets crowded.
Tips from foursquare
make sure to enjoy the luxurious Men's Room.
Don't be fooled by the run-down sign outside! Originally named Tony Nicco's Café, the owner sold the bar to his friend and bartender who named the bar Tony Nik's in his honor.
One of the best dive bars in SF. Try the Crowd Pleaser.
Make sure to visit the "Manhattan style" men's restroom! --Scott S.
