Description

SF Weekly's Description

A time-warp menu of old-fashioned red-sauce Italian cooking and a setting seemingly untouched since its opening in 1969 (with a mural featuring gondolas, huge wrought-iron chandeliers, and a bust of Julius Caesar) are the draws at this Sunset eatery. There are enjoyable dishes at the Gold Mirror Italian Restaurant, including a chicken cacciatore loaded with strips of red bell pepper.

Tips from foursquare

cheesy and ridiculous. the crowd looks like the early bird buffet in Atlantic city. couldn't be gaudier, I'm loving it.

  • Alvin W. on 03/31/12

Ask the chef to make a Seafood Cake. It's not on the menu. REALLY good

  • Philomena M. on 02/21/12

    Great Vodka Gibson!

  • Mehmet O. on 03/30/14

Wine list quite reasonable for such great food and intimate setting. Staff were wonderfully courteous, each course delicious, atmosphere intimate and romantic.

  • David W. on 11/24/12

Avoid the beet salad... No seasoning... Crab chowder is decent though.
