Description

SF Weekly's Description

Good cheesecake in 35 occasionally outlandish varieties (white chocolate macadamia, anyone?) stars at this rococo-garish chain-restaurant hot spot, but there are also plenty of fromage-free entrees and appetizers to whet the most cross-cultural appetite. The starters are interesting and tasty, but a few of the entrees can be ponderous and sweet.

Tips from foursquare

  • From the street, enter Macy’s and go up to The Cheesecake Factory, via elevator or escalators. The restaurant has an outdoor area where you can take great overhead photos of Union Square.

Monday night is the best night to go. The wait is usually only 10 minutes. Never go on the weekends!

  • Benedict C. on 11/13/11

Enjoy the view of the Union Square are from the balcony while you wait to be seated. The little buzzers work outside and will alert you when they're ready to seat you.

Good food and drink. Penny does not work here though ;)

  • Sheila B. on 06/02/10

Take muni, it's a 5 minute walk from Powell station. If it's sunny, eat out on the patio, it's a gorgeous view of Union Square!
