SF Weekly's Description
Semi-hidden within the warren of parking lots and bail shops near the Hall of Justice, Thomas Ware's restaurant serves slow-cooked rib tips, short ribs, and chicken (not quite barbecue, since he doesn't have a smoker on site). All are brushed with his signature sauce, equal parts sweet and vinegar, teased out with Liquid Smoke. The sides, named after members of his family, include Devmyster's Dirty Rice, studded with little clusters of finely ground pork, and Pop Yo' Collar collard greens, sanded with enough white pepper to numb.
Tips from foursquare
Each plate averages about 4 lb. Get the original spicy sauce and don't use a napkin.
T-Dub's uses St. Louis pork spare rib tips when cooking this delicious dish, which they get from the local Golden Gate Meat store.
The ribs here are beyond fantastic! They fall off the bone and are so tasty. Ask for spicy bbq sauce. It gives it a little kick.
