SF Weekly's Description

The San Francisco branch of a Manhattan-based Mexican restaurant empire offers fancy Mexican food, inspired by Acapulco: It's elegant food fit for a deluxe seaside resort. Rather than burritos and hot sauce, Maya offers starters such as a guacamole sampler, chiles rellenos, and salmon ceviche, and entrées that include seafood dishes such as halibut Totec (pan-roasted halibut with black and white sesame seeds, purple mashed potatoes, spicy lobster broth, scallops, frisée salad, and chive oil), and meat dishes like tampiquena (grilled butterflied filet mignon with rajas potato gratin, a mole cheese enchilada with guacamole, and cilantro oil).

Chevy's prices, but infinitely better food. It's also great for big dinner groups.

  • V on 05/12/09

Try the chicken mole burrito without salsa. It's really yum.
