Tips from foursquare

The Ferry Building is very popular, and I recommend it to anyone who is visiting San Francisco. They've got great restaurants (Slanted Door, MarketBar) and a morning farmer's market a few times a week

  • HISTORY on 04/13/10

Opening in 1898, The Marketplace provides a distinctive space for bringing together the greater Bay Area's agricultural wealth and renowned specialty food purveyors under one roof.

Best farmer's market in the country, hands down. -Preeti Mistry, Top Chef

Our favorite thing to do on nice days is get a round-trip ferry ticket to Angel Island, buy a beer on the boat, and sun on the upper deck until the ferry gets back to SF.

If it's Friday, dash to the Prather Ranch Meat Company store for fresh eggs from Soul Food Farm. By end of day, they'll be sold out. Follow our link to find recipes for your farmer's market finds.
