SF Weekly's Description

The "farm to fork" philosophy here means that the raw materials for the fresh California cuisine on offer are not only seasonal but also locally sourced; everything is grown or produced within a 150-mile radius. The sandwiches, soups, and light entrees are of a higher order than most museum cafe fare.

While in the park, stop by the observatory tower for 360 views of San Francisco. It's free and normally not a line- though the line to the special exhibits might block the entryway.

This museum, redesigned in 2005, offers a wide scope of artwork—it combines colonial American paintings with pottery from Africa and murals from Teotihuacan.

Free Friday Nights at the de Young start early and end early, so be sure to get there on time to maximize your experience.
