Description

SF Weekly's Description

This sister restaurant to the popular Chez Papa Bistro on Potrero Hill is darker, sleeker, and more ambitious than its casual, equally French sibling. Located on the small plaza created in 2008 next to the Old Mint, Chez Papa Resto has modern, largely black decor (with touches of orange and exposed brick, more visible at lunch than at dinner), and a modern take on classic French cuisine from chef David Bazirgan (with Provencal touches evident). It can be noisy at night, but you can still enjoy conversation as well as the good food.

We suggest the grilled aged sirloin burger with the Chez Papa pommes frites.

  • Foodspotting on 11/27/10

Try the Bollinger Champagne and spot it on Foodspotting!

  • Marcel P. on 08/18/10

    Try The Kobe Tatar.

  • Cory G. on 10/16/09

Waiters are awesome. Ask for wine advice, and drink something French!

  • Grant S. on 04/26/11

Work for a startup in the same building. Then eat here all the time and gain like 20 pounds.
