Description

SF Weekly's Description

Of the three Brazilian restaurants in town, this cozy neighborhood spot has the warmest, truest atmosphere, and generally the most authentic kitchen. The video screens show G-rated Carnaval scenes, the sound system plays Brazilian pop, the service is caring. The feijoada completa (Saturdays and Sundays only), Brazil's answer to cassoulet, is authentic, generous, and complex, flavored with a bright hit of cilantro. And if the hot pepper quotient is overly considerate of yanqui palates, the hot table sauce is anything but. The seafood and chicken dishes are badly overcooked, though, and the sides unspecial. For dessert, the exquisite coconut flan is tender as a virgin's breast.

Tips from foursquare

  • Cherylynn N. on 11/19/10

Get the Red Snapper or the Feijoada (Brazilian Stew, only avail Fri, Sat, and Sun)!

  • Eliza N. on 04/15/11

    Get the chicken wings.

  • Rajat on 04/06/13

This place smells. Customer service sucks too.

  • Barbara N. on 10/20/12

Leaning back in your chair is an indicator that you're full and would not like your leftovers to take home. Do so with caution.

  • Gabriela F. on 12/14/11

    The coxinhas are so good!
