SF Weekly's Description

Unchanged since the Beat poets chose to frequent it in the 1950s, the cafe hosts Saturday afternoon opera, and still makes the best cappuccino in town. During the hours without live music, there's plenty of entertainment to be had just watching streams of people walk by the windows.

The first espresso coffee bar in SF since the 50's. Still one of the best!

Apparently where Francis Ford Coppola wrote the first draft of The Godfather.

Go to Caffe Trieste for Sat. afternoon concerts. Pavarotti sang here. Rare remaining bit of old-school North Beach character. Tell Papa Gianni who sent you!
