Bar Bambino - CLOSED
San Francisco, CA 94103
SF Weekly's Description
If you're aiming for a little slice of Italy, pop into this spot in the Mission where those behind the counter are quick to offer a tour of the world via vino. The 10-page, soft-leather-bound wine menu, arranged first by style and then by region, offers something for oenophiles of all stripes. Salumi and small plates such as gnocchi complete the experience. There is limited seating for about 10 at the bar and another 20 at tables. If you've celebrated with too much fruit of the vine, there's a $5 single-pot of earthy Italian coffee for the BART ride home.
Tips from foursquare
With a fun antipasto bar and a menu full of thoroughly modern but authentically-inspired Italian dishes, it’s hard not to want to order one of everything. Fantastic service and an impressive all-Itali
Late afternoon rose on the back patio. Salumi to follow. [Eater 38 Member]
When you’re as well-known as a Borgia, you need hidden away places like this for fine dining!
Authentic pizza is all the rage now, but if you think that's the final word in fine Italian cuisine, you've got another thing coming.
Try 2 great, unconventional wines: a light-bodied white, Domaine Labet's Fleurs (based on savignin grape,spice-nut flavors) & Prevostini’s Sommarovina (red nebbiolo from Lombardia's Valtellina region)
