San Francisco, CA 94117
SF Weekly's Description
Highly popular among the neighborhood's Ethiopian/Eritrean community, this bright little eatery offers authentic cuisine of the Tigré region, in versions that are fully seasoned. The emphasis is on vegetables -- a fiery mushroom stew (kintishara) replaces the more usual kitfo (African "beef tartare"), providing much the same flavors, minus the raw-meat risks. Lamb tibsie is also superlative, and prices are amazingly low.

They have some interesting imported beers and I totally recommend the honey wine. If it's your first time eating ethiopian food, just let them know and they'll give you a crash course.
