Description

SF Weekly's Description

This charming small cafe, sister to fancy Absinthe down the street, has an especially pleasant large outdoor garden space with tree-shaded tables tucked behind it. There's good chow all day long, from house-baked pastries to lovely sandwiches, homemade soups, and moist roast chicken. It's close to Davies Hall and the Opera House for before-event meals. Good for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, take-out, or a full meal, and very nice for brunch.

Tips from foursquare

One of the few cafes that has restaurant quality food, the shrimp po' boys sell out quick and the Cuban sandwich with pork confit is fantastic.

  • Thrillist on 06/13/13

One of the most overlooked/underrated patios in all of SF, this Hayes Valley eat spot's back end is shaded by trees and lush green plants. Perfect for enjoying an iced tea. Or beer.

The patio out back is where it's at on a nice day. Shade & sun seating, buy a baguette, some cheese, and a bottle of wine (from the connected wine shop) and while away the hours.

Drink a bottle of wine on the patio behind Arlequin Wine Merchant.
