San Felipe's Cantina

Just when you think nothing new can be done to tuna, you order one of San Felipe’s Mahi Mahi Mango Sandwiches, and you’re convinced: There is something new under the sun, and it tastes awful good, too. And now that this Flagstaff favorite has opened up in Tempe Marketplace, you don’t have to keep this on your list of special-occasion, up-north places to dine. Now you can enjoy one of Felipe’s famous mix-and-match combos (chicken, steak, pork, fish or shrimp tacos, enchiladas, and tostadas) any day of the week. The Sonoran Chicken Sandwich may appear among the items on Felipe’s “Gringo Grub” list, but we’re not proud—not when it means we get to eat this tasty grilled chicken breast on a ciabatta bun, covered with crispy onion strings, jalapeno jack cheese, and green chiles. Like everything else at Felipe’s, it’s a taste sensation.
