Sam's Grill and Seafood Restaurant has been at its present location, anchoring the corner of restaurant-laden Belden Place and Bush Street in the Financial District, since 1946, but its history dates back to 1867. Enjoy a traditional American and Continental menu in a classic wood-paneled setting featuring private booths. As well as steaks, chops, and fresh seafood, Sam's offers pastas and salads. Among its specialties are such rarely seen dishes as mock turtle soup, deviled crab a la Sam, poached salmon with egg sauce, filet of sole a la Marguery, sweetbreads, and Hang Town Fry.
This place is old school SF dining at its best. Perfect for a lunch meeting, highly recommend the swordfish.

One of the first restaurants we remember going to as a kid was Schroeder's, the century-old German joint on Front Street.
