The restaurant may have relocated from its original Deep Ellum digs, but the eatery (now a chain) continues to reel them in with live music and an eclectic menu. Owners and siblings Kim and Holly Forsythe have been doing so since 1991. Pop, classic rock and jazz acts at this "rockin' dinner club" provide a supporting act to the offered dishes. The latter range from small plates and pizza to fusion seafood and hearty meat dishes. These include beef satay with teriyaki and sriracha sauce and goat cheese-stuffed artichokes and a cowboy-cut rib-eye and veggie lasagna. Basically, the kitchen prepares food that is as varied as the entertainment, both of which play late into the night. Sambuca has something for everyone.

Thanks to Bob Barker, generations of Americans learned daily about the importance of having pets spayed and neutered. And though Drew Carey continues to carry on the message, we know that the best pet advocates still exist locally, and few do... More »

Sambuca is dark and narrow. This apparently is a requirement of jazz clubs. Jazz clubs must also be sultry, smoky and have the smell of stale spilled beer on concrete. Sambuca didn't have much smoke, but it did have an aroma suspiciously similar... More »
I went here some time ago for a birthday party. They had great live music and even let the b day girl up on stage for a singalong. Can be a little pricey but if you share some of their delicious tapas you should be in the clear.
Fun live music!
Very chill place to hang out at night, but don't miss for lunch, either. Their lunch menu won't break the bank and it's a classy alternative to fast food.
We smoke cigars about twice a year or so. The last time was during a fancy birthday dinner for a friend at Sambuca Uptown (which is actually between Uptown and downtown). We retired to the smoking room there, which is a glass-walled patio complete with all manner of plush seating options. It was the middle of summer, but the area was cool, the stars were bright, and the rich, hot blasting pleasure of sweet cancerous tobacco filled our lungs. Couple this with a glass of vino or a fine... More »
