Sake Blue Asian Kitchen & Bar is the latest establishment brought to you by the proprietors of popular South Miami upscale-casual spots Town Kitchen & Bar and Smoke'T Southern Kitchen & Tap. This is their first foray into Coral Gables, as well as their first into pan-Asian cuisine. But as the name indicates, like the other places, it's designed as a trendy neighborhood restaurant and hangout, with a bustling bar scene for young professionals who might otherwise head north to Brickell. Sake Blue sits in an unassuming spot near Merrick Park, close to The Collection, but its prices are far more affordable. At lunchtime, the area's many office workers will appreciate free WiFi and dining specials. A "shiin" box deal costs $15 and brings a choice of soup or salad plus an appetizer, one rice or vegetable dish, and an entrée. This place doesn't skimp; salad options include a hearty miso chicken salad, appetizers include full sushi rolls, and entrées include "Chinatown ribs" and soy-glazed salmon.
