This is where the Asian community goes for Vietnamese fajitas. At Saigon Pagolac, you cook your own tenderloin slices on a miniature black cast-iron skillet heated by a butane-fired tabletop cooker. The steak is served with chopped vegetables and exotic herbs that exude flavors of mint, licorice, cinnamon and pepper. This southwest-side restaurant has a lot of other interesting things on the menu, too. It's just that cooking the steak at the table and rolling it up in rice paper is so much fun that nobody wants to try anything else.

There is a beef salad, beef fondue (thin slices of beef cooked in a vinegar broth), grilled beef (thinly sliced beef marinated with lemongrass and cooked over a griddle), beef wrapped in betel leaves, skewered beef meatballs, steamed ground beef pâté with shrimp chips, and beef alphabet soup. Any... More »
