Love this place. Have eaten here twice. Food is fantastic.
If you have about 4 hours to eat a simple meal, then Sai Wan Hong Kong Bistro is for you! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm. The restaurant was not crowded. After walking through the door, we stood by the host desk for over 5 minutes and were completely ignored by a staff member who was 5 feet away, saw us, and did not even greet us with hello. We were finally seated and again ignored for over 15 minutes after we made our menu selection and closed our menus. Our water was served warm. There were four of us and we waited a long time for 2 meals to be served. The two of us started eating our meals because they were getting cold, but the other meals were not coming out. We were almost done with our 2 meals before the other two were finally served! We had ordered a pot of hot tea which was never served. We finished our food (Food was average, except for the Teriyaki chicken which was horrible.) and again asked for the hot tea we had ordered. The server brought the tea but did not bring spoons or sugar with it. We had to ask for the sugar and we used our forks to stir the tea. Again, we did not receive our bill and waited forever to even see our server. It seemed that the staff was hiding in the kitchen. We got the bill and were not charged for the tea (probably because we waited so long for it). The service here is very poor, the staff is not friendly, and the food is just average. The atmosphere is pretty, and it seems clean. I would not waste my money here. Try Pei Wei or Tasty Joe's instead.
Ate dinner at Sai Wan tonight. DELISH!! Had crab puffs, spring rolls, potstickers and Pad Thai. Food was fresh, well prepared with an aweseome server. We'll be back.
