East Village has had bakeries, formal restaurants, and a single grocery store, all providing Mexican food, but Sabor a Mexico Taqueria is the neighborhood’s first taqueria like those found in Sunset Park, Hell’s Kitchen, and Corona. The menu also includes Tex-Mex, including burritos named for various Mexican states. The interior is cramped, but paradoxically somewhat comforting.
