The old Sci Sci under new management, Sabbia at Brickell is mostly known as a happy hour spot and late-night lounge. The new owners seem to be okay with the reputation - offering a rotation of events such as singles minglers and Friday night DJ parties. The dimly lit, modern interior dining room with a wraparound bar and sparkling chandelier is perfectly outfitted for such a role. And the sidewalk seating area of couches and slouchy chairs is even more welcoming to an after-work crowd looking to de-stress. But there seems to be an effort as of late to attract fine-diners along with martini sippers. Offering specials such as a four-course dinner for $35 on certain days, the chic eatery tries to tempt patrons with Italian specialties such as strozzapreti alla norcina ($14), spirals of pasta mingled with house-made sausage and a truffle pink sauce, and filleto di manzo al pepe verde ($31), a ten-ounce filet of beef tenderloin served over a green peppercorn sauce that comes with thyme-infused mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal organic vegetables. But even if you opt for a sit-down dinner, you'll never forget you're at a party spot. The music is loud, the drinks are blue, and the bar takes up half the space.
Service is really good and omg their sliders are the bomb!!
