Rumors has an inauspicious storefront in the similarly low key Old Cutler Towne Center strip mall. But come nighttime, when the rest of the storefronts close shop, Rumors comes alive. Depending upon the night, patrons can include anything from families to dance crazed teenagers to cowboys. Rumors opens daily at 4 p.m. and is a multi-functional venue with a restaurant on one side and a bar/entertainment venue on the other. Closing time is 2 a.m. on most nights but later on weekends. Monday nights bring out the stand up comedians but the rest of the week is reserved for music. There's jazz on Tuesday and karaoke on Thursday. Western Wednesdays and Southern Sundays bring out the country music lovers in the southern parts of the county with line dancing throughout the night. Friday nights are usually reserved for hard rock (a lot of cover bands), while Saturday is Dance Party night with a DJ spinning.
True story. The parking lot in front of Rumors Neighborhood Bistro and Bar in the Old Cutler Towne Center is like an experiment in societal and cultural interaction. Some nights you'll see patrons parking pickup trucks decorated with Confederate flags. Other nights, hoopties will roll up with spinning rims (they're a bit behind the times in South Dade).
